"Tennis jewellery to be worn on and off the court and treasured for generations"
Robert Fuller, founder of the Silver Tennis Collection, is passionate about tennis. A former player and expert in tennis history for over 25 years, it is this love of the game that led to the creation of our company dedicated to providing high quality tennis jewellery, gifts, accessories and items for the home. Based in Wimbledon, the home of Lawn Tennis, we make unique modern and classic pieces to be enjoyed on and off the court using the best of British craftsmanship.
HOW IT BEGAN: In Spring 1998, we took on the challenge to re-create one of the delicate vintage brooches from our private collection using a master pattern maker in the jewellery quarter of Hatton Garden, London. With an authentic racquet shape from the late 19th century, it was a tribute to the elegance and style of an era when tennis jewellery was at its most popular, but we also wanted to created a piece that was fashionable for the approaching new millennium. We had the idea of curving the pin to make a bangle; we designed the clasp and hinge and the very first true tennis racquet bracelet was born. We have never looked back!
The creation in solid sterling silver was soon followed with the introduction of a solid gold handle and ball to make a two tone model; a solid 18ct gold model and finally we added diamonds, sapphires and rubies. The bracelet, our Signature Piece, made in Hatton Garden and in our Wimbledon workshop is still a best seller, to be worn both on and off the court.
Using Robert’s 25 years of expertise as a specialist in antique silver and jewellery, the collection grew and bespoke and custom made pieces were soon being requested. Leaving the vintage aside we created more contemporary, abstract ranges and continue to add new designs throughout the year.
The Silver Tennis Collection also offers unique tennis accessories for your home in exclusive designs. Together with a rug specialist in Altanta, Georgia, 8 years ago we launched the first quality tennis rugs. These rugs, hand knotted in Jaipur in pure new wool, have been sold at the US Open to much acclaim. They can be shipped from stock or custom made to a client’s personal specification.
Our extensive portfolio embraces Olympic awards; bespoke gifts; vintage tennis trophies for tennis players, federations and tournaments; restoration of tennis and real tennis trophies and a full engraving service. Robert also lectures and mounts public exhibitions on the history of tennis using his own collection. We have a large selection of vintage tennis racquets, both in the UK and the USA, original art and posters and some extremely early examples of tennis memorabilia.
Valiantly supporting British craftsmanship and excellent customer care, we aim to offer a truly personal service. Many customers have become good friends and value the quality of the collections. We make tennis jewellery to be worm on and off the court and to be treasured for generations, continuing the custom of giving and wearing tennis jewellery since it first captured the hearts and imagination of Victorian England.
The collections are available here online or at the Queen’s Club, London, where Robert Fuller is a member. The Silver Tennis Collection is also present at tournaments throughout the year including the US Open, the Aegon Championships and the Statoil Masters at the Royal Albert Hall. We are also proud to be associated with the USTA Serves at the US Open, fundraising for them for 12 consecutive years.
